I offer warm, relational psychotherapy for adults, children and young people. I work with anxiety, trauma, shame, self-criticism, neurodivergence, identity and life transitions, with particular attention to the impact of relationships and earlier experiences. Sessions are available face-to-face in Watford town centre and online, in English or Romanian.
About me and my practice
My approach is relational, integrative and trauma-informed, with Transactional Analysis at its core. I aim to offer a thoughtful, collaborative space where you can make sense of what is happening now, understand the patterns and experiences that may be shaping you, and develop ways of relating to yourself and others that feel more supportive and authentic.
I work with adults, children and young people and welcome people who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, self-critical or disconnected from themselves. I have a particular interest in trauma, attachment, shame, identity, neurodivergence, burnout and life transitions. My work is neuro-affirming, and I adapt the pace and style of therapy to the individual rather than expecting clients to fit a particular way of working.
Depending on what you bring, our work may include exploring present difficulties, earlier experiences, relationships, emotions, body-based responses and the beliefs or expectations you have developed about yourself and others. I do not see therapy as giving advice or providing quick answers; I see it as a process of understanding, change and developing greater choice.
I offer face-to-face sessions in Watford town centre, as well as online and telephone sessions. I work in English and Romanian.
Experience
I have experience working therapeutically with adults, children and young people across private practice, charity and community mental health settings.
Alongside my private practice, I have worked with Herts Mind Network in both the Talk It Out and Children and Young People services, as well as volunteering with its Light Touch Support service. I have also volunteered with the Crisis Text Line service Shout and worked with Women and Health in London, supporting both men and women with a wide range of presenting difficulties.
My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, shame and self-criticism, relationship difficulties, identity, neurodivergence, burnout and significant life changes.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked for many years in education and early years settings, including as a teacher and SENCo. This experience continues to inform my understanding of children, young people, families, development and neurodiversity.
